Monthly Homework Schedules will be sent home after the first few weeks of school. At the beginning of each month (on a Friday), a sheet will be placed in your child’s Homework Folder explaining your child’s homework for the month. Please keep that sheet at home in a safe place (such as on the refrigerator) and refer to it each week. If it is ever misplaced, you can always find a replacement on Class Dojo! Assignments will be sent home weekly on Fridays. They should be completed each night in order to develop good homework habits; however, since homework is sent home on Friday, you can get a head start working on assignments in case you have any busy nights in the upcoming week. Plan ahead. Do not leave all assignments to be completed Thursday evening. Developing good homework habits is very important and points for homework will be awarded on Class Dojo to monitor work habits. All assignments combined should not take more than 20 minutes daily. Homework does not have to be done in one sitting. Your child can do 5 minutes when they get home, 10 minutes after dinner, and 5 minutes at bedtime. It is up to you and your child. If your child has to spend more time to complete the assignments, write a note in the Home-School Connection and stop. Also, your child should read or listen to you read every night from any available source. Hopefully reading will be a pleasure and not necessarily part of the homework time.
